In November 2024, Missourians narrowly voted to enshrine a nearly unlimited right to abortion in the state constitution. Two years later, on November 3, 2026, voters will return to the polls with an opportunity to change course.
This year’s ballot will feature Amendment 3, a pro-life measure that would restore crucial protections for women and their unborn children, reestablish parental rights, and permanently ban transgender procedures for minors.
The Missouri Bishops are supporting Amendment 3 and asking “the faithful and all people of good will” to join them in prayer, fasting, and advocating for its passage to roll back the harmful changes brought about by the 2024 measure and move toward greater protection for life, women, and children.
Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski shared his support for Amendment 3 in a recent video.
The archbishop quoted Pope Leo XIV: “No policy can genuinely serve the people if it denies the unborn the gift of life, or if it neglects to support those in need.” He asks for all to join him in praying and advocating for the success of Amendment 3.
In the latest issue of Messenger, we take a closer look at what Amendment 3 would accomplish and why this November’s vote could be a turning point for our state. Click here to read more.
