In a press release issued last week, abortion giant Planned Parenthood announced that its clinic in Springfield, Missouri, will begin offering surgical abortions (also known as procedural or in-clinic abortions) for patients through 12 weeks of pregnancy.
The announcement comes just a few weeks after the same clinic began prescribing abortion pills, returning abortion to the Ozarks for the first time in more than two decades.
As abortion access in the state continues to expand following the narrow approval of a constitutional amendment in 2024, Missourians will have the opportunity to vote on Amendment 3 in November, a pro-life measure that would roll back the most harmful provisions of the 2024 amendment. At the national level, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is inviting Catholics to join an initiative to pray and act to stop the spread of abortion pills (you can find the Action Alert here).
