Missouri State Representative Ken Waller passed away on Saturday at the age of 63.
“Claudia and I are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Representative Ken Waller. The people of the 114th District and all of Missouri have lost a dedicated public servant and a true friend to his community,” Governor Mike Kehoe said in a statement. “Ken was a man of faith, family, and integrity, and his service reflected those values. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
The Herculaneum Republican was in his third year as a state representative for the 114th House District, which takes in portions of Jefferson County. He was planning on running for the 22nd Senate District next year against several other GOP contenders.
“There wasn’t anybody with a bigger heart who cared more about his community,” said attorney Derrick Good, a longtime friend and a member of the committee that wrote Jefferson County’s charter.
The MCC extends its prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Rep. Waller.
