MCC Joins Immigration Panel at Sacred Heart Parish in Columbia

March 06, 2026

Last Sunday, representatives of various organizations that minister to Hispanics in central Missouri met at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Columbia to discuss immigration issues, current legislation, community resources, and other topics that are relevant to the community.

Dr. Guillermo Villa-Trueba, Hispanic Outreach Manager for the Missouri Catholic Conference (MCC), joined Moisés Sosa, DOJ Accredited Representative for Catholic Charities Family Immigration Services; Cristhia Castro, Executive Director of El Puente-Hispanic Ministry; and Garrett Rucinski, Director of Engagement for City of Refuge, in answering parishioners’ questions for nearly two hours.

If your parish, organization, or group would like to learn more about developments at the Missouri Capitol, legislation, or the Church’s stance on key issues, including immigration, you can request a speaker here. The staff of the MCC is available to present on a variety of topics in both English and Spanish and can travel to any location across Missouri to bring insights and discussion directly to your community.
