Gov. Mike Kehoe on Friday moved four proposed constitutional amendments to the Aug. 4 primary ballot: Amendment 1, renewing a sales tax for state parks and soil conservation; Amendment 2, requiring direct election of county assessors; Amendment 4, changing the threshold for constitutional amendments proposed by initiative petition; and Amendment 5, authorizing lawmakers to expand sales taxes as part of an effort to eliminate the state income tax.
This means that Amendment 3, the proposed pro-life constitutional amendment, will remain on the November ballot.
Amendment 3, supported by the Bishops of Missouri, will reinstate health and safety standards for women’s health clinics, ban transgender procedures for minors, and will require parental consent before a minor has an abortion.
More information on Amendment 3 can be found on the MCC website.
