On Tuesday, a federal appeals court ruled that the federal government had not exceeded its authority when it ordered Medicaid funding cuts to certain groups that perform abortions, Planned Parenthood being the main among them.
The court’s decision will allow the Trump administration to go forward with this policy after a lower court blocked it, following a lawsuit brought by 22 Democrat-controlled states. The measure was originally passed in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
