Jamie Morris,
Executive Director and General Counsel
Jamie joined the MCC in September 2018 as Legislative Counsel, lobbying primarily on issues related to the pro-life cause and marriage and family. Before joining the MCC he worked as an attorney with the Missouri Department of Insurance, where he helped draft and implement legislation and administrative rules. Currently, Jamie serves as Executive Director and General Counsel, advising Missouri’s bishops on legal matters pertaining to public policy and representing the MCC before government agencies. Curtis Wichmer,
Legislative Analyst
Curtis joined the MCC in October 2022 as a legislative analyst/lobbyist. Before joining the MCC, he graduated from St. Louis University School of Law with a focus in Immigration and International Law, Criminal Law, and Health Law. Curtis is a registered lobbyist who will assist the MCC with strategic planning on legislative issues and represent the MCC before government agencies. Click here to contact Curtis.
Guillermo Villa-Trueba, PhD
Hispanic Outreach Manager
Guillermo joined the MCC in 2023. He brings a decade of experience in policy-oriented positions, having worked for various agencies of the Mexican Federal Government, such as the Dept. of State and the Dept. of the Treasury. Guillermo graduated magna cum laude from Notre Dame Law School. He also holds a PhD in Economics and Government and master’s degrees in Public Policy (Universidad de Sevilla, Spain), History (U. Cantabria, Spain), and Canon Law (U. Navarra, Spain). His role includes representing the MCC before government agencies and serving as a bridge between the MCC and Missouri’s Hispanic community. Cindy Evers,
Administrative Assistant
Cindy joined the MCC in 2006. She answers the phone, maintains the MCC databases, mailing lists, and email lists, sends Action Alerts, letters, and legislative reports, assists in coordinating meetings and prepares documents for office meetings. Cindy Ayer,
Fiscal Officer
Cindy joined the MCC staff as the Fiscal Officer in 2014. Among other duties, Cindy processes payroll, provides oversight of funds and accounts, and assists in the preparation of the proposed budget. Click here to contact Cindy.
Kathleen Lavery,
Communications Director
Kathleen Lavery is pleased to return to the Missouri Catholic Conference as the Communications Director. She previously was the MCC’s Communication Director from 2004 – 2009. Since that time she served as the Publications Manager at the Missouri Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association and was the Communications/Outreach Coordinator at the Proto-Cathedral of St. Peter in Jefferson City, Missouri. She has more than 25 years of experience in Communications and Marketing. She holds an M.F.A. from Yale University School of Drama in Stage Management. Click here to contact Kathleen.
