On this page, you will find links to information on Medicaid — the joint federal-state program that provides health coverage to over one million Missouri citizens. Medicaid provides health coverage to pregnant women, children, low-income parents, people with disabilities and the elderly. Even middle-class families often rely on Medicaid when an elderly parent enters a nursing home and their life savings become depleted.

A ballot initiative currently being circulated for the 2020 election would expand Medicaid to the working poor who make up to 138% of the federal poverty level ($34,763/yr for a family of four). The expansion would be paid for by federal dollars with a 10% state matching contribution. You can download a one-page informational sheet on the initiative by clicking the link below.
