Prayers for the Health of the Archbishop of San Antonio

October 09, 2024

The Archdiocese of San Antonio, Texas, has requested prayers for the health of Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller. On Tuesday, the Archdiocese posted a statement on social media, informing that Archbishop García-Siller began to feel unwell as he was presiding at the 9:30 a.m. Mass and was immediately hospitalized. After spending two nights at the hospital, he was released on Thursday afternoon and is now out of danger; however, he will continue to be closely monitored.

“I want to thank everyone for your affection and prayers. I am feeling much better, thanks be to God. As a patient, I can appreciate all the work of those who serve our infirm brothers and sisters. I pray that more of us can become involved in the pastoral care of the sick; to accompany the sick through prayer and visits to hospitals. May Our Lord care for and heal those who are suffering from any illness,” said the Archbishop.
