Pope Francis’ Condition Sees “Marked Improvement”

March 31, 2023

After being hospitalized just a few days ago for a lung infection, Pope Francis has maintained a gradually improving condition, according to the Pope’s medical staff, who have since diagnosed the Pope with bronchitis. During His stay at Gemelli Hospital, Pope Francis has dedicated himself to rest, prayer, meditation, and some lighter work duties.

“As part of scheduled clinical checks, the Holy Father was found to have a bronchitis infection that required the administration of antibiotic therapy through infusion,” Holy See Press Office Director Matteo Bruni told reporters. “Based on the expected course, the Holy Father should be discharged in the coming days.”

The Missouri Catholic Conference invites all faithful Catholics to pray for the condition of the Pope, that he may swiftly and safely recover.
