Caitlin Clark has become a household name after ending her collegiate career with more points than anyone in college basketball, men and women. The Iowa Hawkeye guard was selected as the number 1 draft pick by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) draft on April 15.
Raised in a Catholic household, Clark attended Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, where she was coached by Kristin Meyer. Meyer joined “EWTN News Nightly” on April 16 to share what it has been like to watch Clark become a basketball star.
“I always expected her to be successful in college,” Meyer said. “She is a tremendous basketball player, and we saw that throughout her high school years. So, I’m not all that surprised to see the success that she’s had.” Meyer pointed out, “Caitlin is a type of person [for whom] it’s always been important … to maximize her God-given talents and to share those with the world.”
