World Marriage Day Shared with Valentine's Day in 2021

Marriage

This year, Valentine's Day and World Marriage Day will have a joint celebration. World Marriage Day, which is celebrated each year on the second Sunday of February, falls this weekend on February 14th. It's a fortuitous coincidence that the two celebrations of love share the same day in 2021.

The theme for the week-long celebration, which began Feb. 7, is "To Have, To Hold, To Honor." According to a press release from the USCCB, the theme was chosen "to highlight how married couples live and renew their wedding promises daily in the building up of the domestic church in their homes, particularly as many couples and families have spent more time at home together this year."
