
The Diocese of Burlington, Vermont, along with several Catholic school students, is challenging a state law that excludes Catholic school students from a dual-enrollment program that allows public and other private high school students to obtain college credits with state funding. The lawsuit invokes the reasoning of a recent U.S. Supreme Court case that stated it is illicit to exclude parochial schools from a state grant program that provides playground re-surfacing to schools but excluded religious ones.
