Temporary Benefit Increase Extended to September for Missouri WIC participants

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) last week announced the extension of the temporary increase of the Cash Value Benefit for Fruit and Vegetable Purchases (CVB) starting Jan. 5, 2023. The new amounts will be:

  • $25 per month for child participants

  • $44 per month for pregnant and postpartum participants

  • $49 per month for breastfeeding participants

DHSS has stated that eligible participants should contact their local WIC agency to schedule an appointment to load the additional benefits on their eWIC card before receiving any January benefits; otherwise, the increased benefits will begin in February.

The Missouri WIC program provides additional fruits and vegetables for up to 60,000 women and children per month. To find out more about the new CVB or the Missouri WIC program, please click here.
