St. Louis Loses Pioneer of Pro-life Movement

Mary Frances Horgan

The St. Louis pro-life community is mourning the loss of Mary Frances Horgan, appointed by then Cardinal John Carberry to serve as the first Vice-Chair of the Archdiocesan Pro-life Committee (now the St. Louis Respect Life Apostolate). Mary Fran, as she was known, was a product of an Irish Catholic home, her local parish grade school, and Incarnate Word Academy.  She went on to be an educator, working in both public and parochial schools during her career as a teacher. She was also a tireless advocate for the unborn. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her!
