Speedy Sister: Chicago Nun Runs Treadmill Marathon for Charity

Sister Stephanie Baliga Running Marathon

Sister Stephanie Baliga, a Franciscan Sister of the Eucharist of Chicago, has run many marathons. But this year, after the cancellation of the Chicago marathon due to COVID-19, she ran her first on a treadmill--in her convent's basement. The run wasn't just for fun, though; with each stride, Sister Stephanie raised funds for Mission of Our Lady of the Angels on Chicago's west side, totaling over $100,000 after 26.2 miles.
