Saturday Night Live Skit Reminds Us to Forgive

Snl Davidson Crenshaw

Last weekend, SNL comedian Pete Davidson made a public apology after he made fun of a photo of congressman-elect Lt. Com. Dan Crenshaw, who lost his eye in an IED attack during his third tour of Afghanistan. Instead of letting the incident blow up in anger, the men took the opportunity to show an act of forgiveness, and to remind the audience just how much we can accomplish when we remember to forgive and work together. Crenshaw made an appearance on the show to accept Davidson's apology, and to give his own monologue in the name of civil discourse. As we move closer to the beginning of the 2019 legislative session, the act of working together across partisan lines is especially important to employ. Watch this video of Lt. Com. Dan Crenshaw's remarks.
