Pro-life Activists Peacefully Lobby for HB 126 on Planned Parenthood Lobby Day

Team Play

A group of local activists from Team P.L.A.Y., a group committed to dramatically reducing the number of abortions in Missouri and the rest of the United States, held a vigil in the State Capitol on Wednesday, May 8. They prayed and received a blessing outside St. Peter Church, visited their lawmakers to encourage them to vote for HB 126, presented pro-life signs for their lawmakers to display in their offices, and greeted people who were on their way into the Capitol Rotunda for a Planned Parenthood rally. Dressed in red and holding their signs, they prayed silently by the second-floor landings overlooking the Rotunda during the rally. Several reporters assigned to cover the rally stopped to talk to members of Team P.L.A.Y. Kathy Forck, a member of St. Andrew parish in Holts Summit, explained that P.L.A.Y. stands for Prayer, Legislation, Active participation, and You - referring to getting every individual person involved. Most of the prayer-vigil participants are also active in the 40 Days for Life Campaign in Columbia.
