President Biden this week signed another executive order aimed at expanding access to abortion rights in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. The order directs the Department of Health and Human Services to consider supporting women who travel out of state for abortions, including through the Medicaid program. The President once again called on Congress to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law. This executive order follows a July 8 order that asked the Justice Department to protect a woman's right to travel to another state to receive an abortion and to access abortion drugs.
