Planned Parenthood Accused of Mistreating Pregnant Employees

recent New York Times article has detailed accusations of discrimination against pregnant employees by Planned Parenthood. In interviews with more than a dozen current and former employees, the Times reports that managers at Planned Parenthood clinics have been accused of declining to hire pregnant job applicants, refused requests by pregnant employees to take breaks, and in some instances fired employees after they returned from maternity leave.
 
The Times also reported that 49 of Planned Parenthood's 55 regional offices do not provide paid maternity leave. In addition to the financial burden of unpaid leave, many Planned Parenthood employees accused managers of pressuring them to delay maternity leave or return to work early. Click here for a video of one of the former workers who has accused Planned Parenthood of discrimination.
 
In fiscal year 2016, Planned Parenthood brought in nearly $1.5 billion.
