This week the House Committee on Children and Families heard testimony on HB 127, sponsored by Rep. Rocky Miller (R-Lake Ozark). Missouri law currently requires a physician performing an abortion on a minor to obtain written consent of the minor and one parent or guardian prior to the abortion. HB 127 would require the consenting parent or guardian to notify the other custodial parent or guardian in writing prior to giving consent.
The Senate heard its own version of the bill this week, SB 106, sponsored by Sen. Denny Hoskins (R-Warrensburg). The MCC testified in support of both bills.
