Observing Independence Day

In observance of Independence Day, the Missouri Catholic Conference will be closed on July 4. There will be no MCC Weekly Update next week. The next MCC Weekly Update will be sent out on Friday, July 12. We hope you all have joyous celebrations and stay safe over the holiday!

For now, we'll share a bit of patriotic trivia.

Charles Carroll. Do you know him? His was the only Catholic signature to appear alongside that of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, John Hancock and the rest of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence. Before he died at the age of 95 in 1832, Carroll became somewhat of a celebrity, as he was the last living signee of the Declaration. Today, he is largely a forgotten patriot. Read more about Charles in this great article from Crux.
