New Memorial to 9/11 First Responders a 'Monument of Sensitivity'

Memorial Glade
Eighteen years ago this week, thousands of American lives were ended, families were shattered, and our nation was changed forever. The effects of the September 11th attacks didn't stop that day; they've stretched across nearly two decades, leaving physical and emotional scars. By 2024, it's estimated that more individuals will have died from exposures to toxins and other hazardous materials during the resulting recovery efforts than from the attack itself.

Earlier this year, a new memorial known as the Memorial Glade was unveiled; the installation is designed to pay tribute to those who continue to suffer and to the memory of those who have died since the attacks. Father Brian Jordan, a Franciscan friar who was present at Ground Zero on the day of the attack and has celebrated numerous Catholic funerals that were the result of the attacks of 9/11, calls the Glade a "monument of sensitivity". Read more about this memorial in this article from Crux.
