Missouri Senate Expected to Debate Educational Scholarship Accounts

School
The Missouri Senate will likely begin floor debate on education reform next week. SB 55, sponsored by Senator Cindy O'Laughlin (R-Shelbina), includes language creating a tax credit for people who donate to organizations that provide scholarships to students so that they may attend private schools. The bill also includes other education reform provisions that may prove challenging for proponents, including expansion of charter and virtual schools, term limits for State Board of Education members, and a process for recalling local school board members, among other provisions. If you have not already done so, please let your senator know you support educational scholarship accounts by responding to this Action Alert.
