Missouri voters decided on a number of issues and chose a new U.S. Senator on Election Day. Attorney General Eric Schmitt was elected to represent Missouri in the U.S. Senate. Missouri Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick was elected as the new state auditor. Governor Mike Parson will now need to appoint a new attorney general and a new state treasurer, putting Missouri Republicans in control of every statewide office. Voters passed Amendment 3, legalizing recreational marijuana for those 21 and older and granting expungements for prior cannabis convictions.
Amendment 4, increasing Kansas City’s police funding, passed.
Voters approved the National Guard forming its own department separate from the Department of Public Safety, Amendment 5 on the ballot.
Missouri voters rejected a new constitutional convention. The question appears on state ballots every 20 years.
