Governor Parson announced this week that Missouri would begin activating Phase 1B, which includes three tiers, of the state's vaccine plan, opening the door for more Missourians to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Under Tier 1 of Phase 1B, which began Thursday of this week, non-patient interacting healthcare providers (healthcare administrators, etc.), first responders, police officers, and firefighters will now be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine through their employers. Under Tier 2, which begins on Monday, January 18th, Missourians over the age of 65 and those with healthcare conditions that put them at high risk will be eligible to receive the vaccine either through their healthcare provider or their local pharmacy. Essential workers, including Catholic school teachers, will be eligible in Tier 3 of Phase 1B, but no date has been set for the start of Tier 3.
