Governor Announces Additional Funding for A+ Scholarship Program

Stating that COVID-19 has resulted in more students attending community colleges, and a shortfall in funding, Governor Mike Parson announced additional funding for the A+ scholarship program this week in the amount of $10.1 million. Nearly half of the funding will come from CARES Act funding, and the remainder from supplemental funding proposed in his recommended budget for FY2021.

The A+ scholarship program provides scholarships to high school graduates to attend community college if they meet certain criteria. The program was extended several years ago to include graduates of parochial schools, who were previously excluded. Read more here.
