On Saturday, Oct. 7th, the date on which the Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, the fourth annual worldwide Men’s Rosary will take place. With more than 40 countries uniting in prayer, the 2018 prayer movement which originated in Poland and Ireland has spread to many different countries in just a few short years.
At the last global rosary this past May, Catholics who observed the day prayed for the role of men in society to be valued once again and for the conversion of the entire world. At a public prayer event for the last global rosary, Segundo Carafí, an organizer of the global rosary in Argentina, said that they will pray “in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary; following the example of St. Joseph, to reclaim masculinity as a man’s role in God’s plan to protect, guard, and defend the sanctity of our families and loved ones; and to protect and defend our families from human ideas that are anti-Christian.” Though there are plans to host several outdoor gatherings to pray the rosary on October 7th, all are still encouraged to pray the rosary in private if they too would like to unite with the movement’s prayer intentions.
