Four Killed in Shooting at Tulsa Catholic Hospital Complex

Hands Making Heart At Sunset

The nation was rocked by another mass shooting event this week, this time at a Catholic medical facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Police say a gunman entered Saint Francis Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, opening fire and killing four victims. The gunman, who allegedly targeted the facility due to pain he was experiencing after back surgery conducted at the facility, then took his own life. Authorities said the gunman bought an AR-15-style rifle hours before the shooting, and had previously purchased a semi-automatic handgun at a pawn show.

Archbishop Paul Coakley of Oklahoma City issued a statement saying “I commend Bishop Konderla, the priests of the Diocese of Tulsa and the Sisters of Mercy for their swift response to attend to the pastoral needs of those involved in this latest act of mass gun violence.” Archbishop Coakley then called for prayers for those affected and called on the faithful to “speak louder in defense of all human life from conception until natural end, and find ways to stop the mass killing of innocent human beings.”
