The Fight Against COVID-19: Increasing Testing & PPE Decontamination

N 95 Mask

Missouri is making big strides in the fight against COVID-19 this week. During his press conference on Wednesday, Governor Parson said that the state would be opening up COVID-19 testing to more people, and would also be deploying a decontamination system for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The system, which is completely funded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, uses hydrogen peroxide vapor to disinfect N95 protective masks. Masks can safely be reused up to 20 times using this process, according to Missouri HealthNet director Todd Richardson.
