Couple in Iconic Pose Still Together 50 years after Woodstock

woodstock couple

This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, the rock festival that drew 450,000 people to a dairy farm in upstate New York. For Bobbi and Nick Ercoline, it brings back a flood of memories. They are the blanket-wrapped pair on the album cover featuring recordings from the famous music festival. There's something sweet about the image that resonates even decades later. The couple, still together, married two years after Woodstock, now volunteer at the site, a 40-minute drive from their home.
At the time, they were just hard-working college-aged young people who stayed just one night at the festival. They went on to raise two sons while she was a school nurse and he worked at the local county housing department. Mr. Ercoline gives his advice for an enduring relationship: "A lot of communication. Don't go to bed mad at each other. It's a give-and-take. Choose your battles."
