On Wednesday, the House Special Committee on Career Readiness heard testimony on a bill meant to protect the rights of religious student groups at public universities. HB 1926, sponsored by Rep. Hannah Kelly (R-Mountain Grove), would prevent universities from denying a religious student group the same benefits as other student groups on campus. This bill has been proposed the last couple of years in Missouri and similar religious protection legislation has been passed in 15 other states. The MCC testified in support of this legislation.
