Advocacy 101: Legislative Skills

MO Capitol

The 2019 Annual Assembly is just three weeks away! Have you registered yet? We are looking forward to a day filled with dynamic speakers and presentations on a variety of topics important to our Catholic community. Part of the mission of the Missouri Catholic Conference is to empower our MOCAN members to use their voices in the political arena. This workshop, titled Advocacy 101: Legislative Skills will give you a solid foundation and confidence to get involved during the upcoming legislative session. The description is as follows:

Have you wanted to contact your state representative or senator about an issue but were unsure where to start? This panel of experts will provide best practices and present real-life examples of effective (and not so effective) ways to lobby your state legislators. Come learn how to track the progress of legislation and how to utilize the legislative process to your advantage! Presenters: Chris Till, Operations Manager, GovWatch, Jefferson City, MO; Jamey Murphy, Chief of Staff, Sen. Paul Wieland, St Louis, MO; Christine Brauner, Executive Assistant, Sen. Brian Williams, Jefferson City, MO
