(MO Empowerment Scholarship Accounts Program)
SB 727, an education reform bill, is currently on the House informal calendar for debate. SB 727 would, among other things, expand our “Missouri Empowerment Scholarship Accounts Program” (ESA), which creates a tax credit that provides an incentive for taxpayers to make contributions to scholarship-granting organizations that offer students an opportunity to attend private or parochial schools. This program has given families the opportunity to better meet the specific educational needs of their children; however, the original program limited where ESA’s could be established. SB 727 would expand these opportunities throughout the entire state of Missouri.
The Missouri Catholic Conference, in partnership with the Missouri Council for American Private Education (MoCAPE), encourages you to contact your state representative and encourage their support for SB 727.
