Jamie Morris, Executive Director

Jamie joined the MCC in September 2018 as Legislative Counsel, lobbying primarily on issues related to the pro-life cause and marriage and family. Before joining the MCC he worked as an attorney with the Missouri Department of Insurance, where he helped draft and implement legislation and administrative rules. Jamie will also serve as the MCC’s General Counsel, advising Missouri’s bishops on legal matters pertaining to public policy and representing the MCC before government agencies. Click here to contact Jamie.

Rita Linhardt, Senior Staff Associate


Rita has been with the MCC since 1988. She is a registered lobbyist and assists with the strategic planning on legislative issues and the MCC Annual Assembly. Her primary area of emphasis is corrections and the death penalty. She is a founding member of Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty and is a frequent speaker on the death penalty. [vacant] Legislative Analyst/Lobbyist

The legislative analyst/lobbyist helps advance the public policy priorities of the Catholic Church in Jefferson City. Bachelor's degree or higher and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Prior experience in government relations is preferred, but not required. Must be a Catholic in good standing, residing in or near Jefferson City or willing to relocate.

Heather Buechter, Director of Communications

Heather Buechter

Heather Buechter joined the MCC in June of 2022. She is in charge of maintaining the website, designing and editing all MCC publications, and keeping up social media activity for the MCC. Heather is also the MCC videographer and photographer. Click here to contact Heather.

Cindy Evers, Administrative Assistant

Cindy Evers

Cindy joined the MCC in 2006. She answers the phone, maintains the MCC databases, mailing lists, and email lists, sends Action Alerts, letters, and legislative reports, assists in coordinating meetings and prepares documents for office meetings. Cindy is available to assist you in joining the Missouri Catholic Advocacy Network (MOCAN) and to provide information on how to contact your legislators. Click here to contact Cindy.

Cindy Ayer, Fiscal Officer

Cindy joined the MCC staff as the Fiscal Officer in 2014. Among other duties, Cindy processes payroll, provides oversight of funds and accounts, and assists in the preparation of the proposed budget. Click here to contact Cindy.
